Rollei, the provider of the first computer flashes in the year 1967, is now expanding its selection of products with the Rollei Flash Unit 56, the Flash Unit 58, a Rollei Wireless Flash Trigger Set as well as corresponding Rollei Wireless Flash Receivers with the addition of new products in this range. External flashes guarantee appropriate illumination of the subject when there is little light or supplement natural light. In addition, they facilitate indirect or unfettered flashing as well as successful backlit photography. Thus, the manufacturer of high-quality photo accessories is reviving a product segment, which is geared to photographers, who want to do more than just take a quick picture occasionally.
The dual mode of the Rollei Flash Unit 56 and the Rollei Flash Unit 58 permits their use with both Canon and Nikon cameras. Both flash units can also be operated either in TTL mode or entirely by hand. The measuring data of the camera with the flash are set ideally when it is operated in TTL mode and the fully automatic motor zoom guarantees an optimal lighting angle. In addition owing to high speed synchronisation of up to 1/8,000 second, shutter speeds that are faster than the flash synch speed can be enabled. Synchronisation is also possible on the first and second shutters. Both models can also be used in the master/slave mode. The scope of delivery of the Rollei Flash Unit 56 and the Rollei Flash Unit 58 also includes a stand, an on-flash diffuser and a protective bag.
The Rollei Flash Unit 58 possesses an integrated LED permanent light, which can be used as a fill light or to check the shadow cast. All photographers, who often travel with their flash units and don’t have a direct power supply on the road, can use the equipment both with the rechargeable lithium ion battery provided and with conventional batteries. The Flash Unit 56 has a guide number of 56, whereas the guide number of the Flash Unit 58 is 58 (both with ISO 100, 180 mm).
You can purchase the Flash Unit 56 for 149.99 euros and the Flash Unit 58 for 199.99 euros. The rechargeable lithium ion battery for the Flash Unit 58 is available for 39.99 euros.
Unfettered flashing is no problem either with the Rollei Wireless Flash Trigger Set, which consists of a wireless flash trigger transmitter and a wireless flash trigger receiver. By means of this, up to three groups of flashes that are physically separate from the camera can be set and triggered. High speed synchronisation of up to 1/8,000 second and synchronisation on the first and second shutters are also options here.
Besides the transmitter and the receiver, the scope of supply also includes a stand and an operating manual. The Wireless Flash Trigger Set is available for 99.99 euros.
The Wireless Flash Trigger Receivers are also available individually for 49.99 euros for the use of further separate flashes.
All products will be available from of September online and in retail shops. Further information is available at: http://www.rollei.com/products/photo-accessories/flash-units/
