Rollei 56 Flash Unit
Canon- and Nikon-branded SLR cameras are especially popular among pro photographers, and the first thing to consider for a premium camera accessory is typically the make-or-break question “Canon or Nikon?” But with the new range of Rollei flashes, our answer is simply: “Both!” Both the Rollei 58 Flash Unit and the Rollei 56 Flash Unit introduced here offer a sophisticated “dual mode”, which is precisely calibrated to the standards prescribed by these two leading camera makers. This mode makes it particularly easy to use any Canon- or Nikon-branded camera for flash shooting.
Powerful and highly versatile
Apart from extended compatibility, the Rollei 56 Flash Unit comes with features that meet all of the requirements for a modern, high-performance flash. Offering a 56 guide number (ISO 100, 180 mm), the unit can be used both as a master and slave flash, while the stand included in the accessories means the unit is easy to set up within the infrared range (up to 30 m indoors and up to 15 m outdoors). Flash bracketing, use as a stroboscope and numerous TTL flash modes mean the unit can be used for a wide range of applications. After firing, the unit takes just 2.9 seconds to recharge for the next flash-assisted shot.
Spontaneous or set-piece shooting – the choice is yours
With a vertically- and horizontally-tiltable reflector plus on-flash diffuser, the flash unit can be used to generate a variety of lighting situations even in the same location, while four slave channels and three slave groups are also available if you need to orchestrate a more complex lighting setup. Power is supplied by 4 standard AA batteries or NiMH rechargeable batteries. High-speed flash synchronisation of up to 8 thousandths of a second gives you the freedom you need to capture the magic of the moment.
