Details

In our F:X Pro series we have put together a kit for you that can easily be described as the toolbox among filter kits. It offers everything the landscape photographer needs. From the ND filter over various gradient filters up to the night light filter.

So that you can start immediately, the basis of the set is the Rollei filter holder, which consists of precisely milled aviation aluminium and has three spring-loaded mounting rails for rectangular filters, as well as a base ring (82 millimetres). In addition to the included polarizing filter, you can use up to three rectangular filters at the same time.

Brand new CPL included

The set also includes our brand new F:X Pro CPL - a circular polarization filter. Basically a CPL enhances colors and contrasts - reflections are filtered out. Thanks to our extremely fine luminance coating, its reflection-free properties are 99.5 percent, which guarantees you razor-sharp images - even with high-end cameras with 150 MP. The colour fidelity is exemplary: simply capture your surroundings as the human eye sees them.

GND filter for optimal exposures in every situation

So that you are prepared for every situation, our Ultimate Filter Kit also contains GND-8 filters for you. GND stands for graduated neutral density, which means a filter with a transition from tinting to transparency.

A GND is used for subjects in which the brightness conditions are very different and therefore require an aid such as a filter for a uniformly exposed image. Ideal locations for gradient filters are, for example, mountain landscapes, forests and valleys, photographing at sunrise and sunset, i.e. wherever light conditions make the foreground of the image appear darker than the background or vice versa.

These GNDs are part of the set:

  • Soft GND 8 (soft transition)
  • Medium GND 8 (medium strong transition)
  • Hard GND 8 (hard transition)
  • Reverse GND 8 (Reverse transition from center to top)
  • Center GND 8 (transition from the center, tapering to both sides)

ND filter also included in the equipment

A good filter set naturally also includes ND filters. The task of ND filters is to reduce the light incident on your camera sensor.

For this you need ND filters:

  • Representation of motion through longer exposure times
  • Removal of moving objects from the image
  • Highlighting the subject by softening the background
  • Increase aperture size - Decrease depth of field

The set includes different ND filters with different intensities and stops. A stop means that the amount of light incident on the sensor decreases by one f-stop at a time. This enables you to capture magically drawn images with longer exposure times even in sunshine. For example, you can blur moving elements of your image composition, which makes the water look silky when you take a picture of a river - but larger stones in the river are sharply drawn because they do not move. Would you like to photograph a tourist attraction, but preferably without people in the picture? That's no problem with an ND filter either. Due to the long exposure, ultimately only the immobile architecture remains in the picture.

These ND filters are part of the set:

  • 100 mm ND 8 (3 stops / 0.9)
  • 100 mm ND 64 (6 stops / 1.8)
  • 100 mm ND 1000 (10 stops / 3)

Are you not only active during the day, but also at night?

In this case, we have added our Astroklar filter (100 millimetres) to the kit, which effectively reduces light pollution in the dark. Light pollution emanating from large cities often prevents a clear view of the stars. The Rollei Astroklar Filter provides more contrast and clarity and largely reduces the yellow and orange parts of the light, so that even difficult structures and transitions can be displayed.
