The new Rock Solid Gamma and Beta tripods are not the only Rollei gear offering superb support for complex and sophisticated long-exposure, architecture and nature photography. The high-precision Rock Solid Three-Way Panhead M/L also greatly simplify these types of shots. Two locking handles, easily usable even by large hands, permit rapid, exact positioning along all of the three pan/tilt axes, enabling you to capture your photo subjects just as you have imagined them. If you’re particular about getting your visual symmetry perfectly aligned to the vertical and horizontal, the built-in spirit levels will give you the readings you need.
Quick portrait/landscape switchover
The ingenious design of the three-way panhead means you can switch between a wide variety of shooting angles in a matter of moments. An ArcaSwiss-compatible quick-release plate gives your valuable cameras and lenses a rock-solid mount while also simplifying switching between various camera setups. Rollei’s Rock Solid Three-Way Panhead models augment the highly flexible pivoting centre column featured on the new Rock Solid Gamma and Beta 180 tripods, not least because macro photography in particular needs high-precision positioning to fully exploit the incredible ground approach of just 2.5 cm.
Lightweight and incredibly strong
When tracking down their unusual subjects, travel and nature photographers often have to trek for long distances on foot. Here, every gram counts and so the two three-way panhead models have been designed and constructed from aluminium. When combined with Rollei’s featherlight Carbon tripods, this means you can take everything you need for your shoot while still travelling light. The three-way panhead M weighs only 578 g and can take loads of up to 4 kg, while the L model tips the scales at just 790 g but can handle a hefty 6 kg of gear.
