Medium GND rectangular filter

The Rollei F:X Pro Medium GND is a gray gradient filter, also Graduated Neutral Density Filter called. With graduated filters, the tint runs (coating) to one side. The word medium means that the intensity of the tint is moderately strong from one end of the filter towards the middle and does not end with a very hard cut (Hard GND) or very soft (Soft GND). Our medium GND filter is available in three different intensities:n:

• 100mm medium GND 8
• 100mm medium GND 16
• 100mm medium GND 32

You can use the medium GND for these motifs:

• Mixed urban motifs (houses with water, bridges and sky)
• Mountain ranges with forest, sky and sun
• Overall, motifs where the horizon line is rather uneven

GNDs are used for subjects where the brightness conditions have a certain progression and therefore require different exposures for an evenly exposed image. A classic application for a medium GND is, for example, a photo of a city center, which has many different elements and brightness levels and therefore has to be classified exactly between hard and soft GND. The medium GND compensates for such a scenario.

Thanks to a special manufacturing process, it is legendarily resistant and at the same time guarantees extremely high light transmission and color neutrality. Our anti-scratch layer gives the filter glass the final hardness against mechanical influences and ensures that dirt caused by grease, water or mud can be removed quickly and effortlessly.

But not only scratch resistant are our filters but alsoh temperature resistant. We tested this under the highest quality standards in scorching heat and also bitter cold. In short: They are the best filters we have ever built.
